Welcoming is far more than a simple acceptance of what comes our way—it's a profound spiritual practice that serves as a doorway into our deepest sense of Being and the experience of being truly Home. This powerful practice offers us a way to transform our relationship with everything that arises in consciousness, from the most challenging experiences to the seemingly mundane moments of daily life.
Understanding the Essence of Welcoming
At its core, Welcoming is like inviting a guest into your home. When you welcome someone into your space, you open your door, extend an invitation, and often say "make yourself at home". This same principle applies to every experience that arises in consciousness—whether it's a thought, emotion, sensation or life circumstance.
The revolutionary aspect of Welcoming lies in its unconditional nature. Even if what appears seems threatening—like a robber—the practice remains the same: extend the invitation. This isn't recklessness; it's based on a fundamental Truth: you are always more than the experience, always more than whatever is showing up. And "what shows up" changes when it it truly and fully Welcomed. The robber becomes your friend as you welcome him or her in and invite them to take whatever they need. That may seem unrealistic and pie-in-the-sky to you now but as you live this way, it becomes more and more matter of fact.
The Foundation: Building Trust and Capacity
True Welcoming requires developing trust in your infinite capacity to handle whatever arises. As you practice, a beautiful cycle emerges: the more you trust, the more you welcome; the more you welcome, the more experiences you have of successfully welcoming anything and everything. This expanding capacity becomes self-reinforcing, gradually dissolving the barriers between you and life itself.
This practice leads to genuine Freedom because resistance is what binds us. When any part of you tries to push something away, you lose freedom in that act of resistance—your energy, focus, and attention become tied up in the pushing. Welcoming, by contrast, keeps everything available because there's nothing in you resisting.
Three Practical Approaches to Welcoming
Basic Welcoming Practice
Start by simply noticing what draws your attention—whether external (your environment) or internal (sensations in your body, thoughts in the mind, etc.). Begin with something neutral, like the sensation of sitting in your chair. Notice the physical sensation, any images that arise (like the chair supporting you), and any thoughts or projections that emerge.
The practice is straightforward: whatever you notice, ask yourself "Can I welcome this?" If the answer is no, that's perfectly acceptable—simply ask "Can I welcome the fact that I can't welcome this yet?" There's always a layer where you can find a "yes."
Active Welcoming: Diving Deep
The second approach involves more actively engaging with what arises. Using the ocean wave metaphor, instead of simply standing and letting the wave come to you (passive Welcoming), you can choose to dive into the center of the wave (active Welcoming).
When working with pain, discomfort, or life challenges, this means intentionally diving into the energetic center of the experience. For instance, if you have a relationship difficulty or financial concern, allow the related thoughts, feelings, and images to arise, then imagine diving energetically into the crux of the matter. This often means diving deeper into your unconscious, into parts you're not fully in touch with yet, while maintaining the welcoming attitude throughout.
Polarity Integration: The Advanced Practice
The most transformative aspect of Welcoming involves working with polarities. In our three-dimensional reality, most experiences come in pairs—happiness/sadness, love/hate, success/failure. However, Divine Qualities like Divine Love, Divine Joy, and Divine Bliss have no opposites; They simply are.
The practice involves consciously Welcoming both sides of any polarity. For example, if you notice hatred toward someone, the process would be:
Welcome the hatred: "Would I be willing to allow myself to hate this person as much as I do in this moment?"
Welcome the opposite: "Would I be willing to allow myself to love this person as much as I do in this moment?"
Continue bouncing between both sides: hate, love, hate, love.
Eventually, when you accept both sides of the polarity, they dissolve into each other, revealing the Divine Truth that has no opposite. This dissolution creates genuine Freedom—you're no longer bound by addiction, resistance, or repression.
Working with Real-Life Examples
The Chocolate Exercise: If you have a strong attachment or addiction to something (like chocolate), practice welcoming both your love for it and your hatred of it. Notice that even with something you think you only love, there are moments when you hate it—perhaps after eating too much. By welcoming both the love and hate fully, you arrive at a place of freedom where you can take it or leave it, fully enjoying it when it comes while being equally content without it.
Major Life Issues: With bigger challenges like "I hate my life," the process requires more persistence. The polarities may have more layers and need longer to dissolve. Keep moving between "Would I be willing to hate my life as much as I do?" and "Would I be willing to love my life as much as I do?" Notice how the intensity shifts with each iteration as the phrase "as much as I do in this moment" reflects the constant changes occurring.
River of Life Perspective
Remember that you are alive and in the River of Life—and rivers don't stop flowing. This means there's always something new to Welcome. You never need to attach to anything; if something is meant to be in your life for a while, it will naturally remain as long as it's useful. If something isn't meant to stay and you're welcoming it, it will move through, giving you its gift and then departing.
Life continuously brings exactly what you need, as long as you maintain the practice of Welcoming everything that appears.
Finding Your True Home
The ultimate fruit of Welcoming practice is arriving at your True Home. This isn't just a conceptual understanding but a lived experience of being at Home in your Divine Essence, your Divine Being, while simultaneously being at Home in your human life. Home is characterized by Freedom, Love, Balance, and a Safe Space to unfold, expand, be and express.
When you consistently Welcome everything, you naturally end up at Home. While your Essence is your Divine Home, because you're working through human polarities and 3D experiences, you're also bringing your human experience into alignment with this sense of Being at Home.
Integration and Daily Practice
The beauty of Welcoming is its universal applicability. Whether dealing with a minor irritation like an uncomfortable chair or major life challenges like financial loss, the principle remains the same: extend the invitation, create space, and Welcome what is.
Start each day with the simple question: "What am I noticing, and can I welcome this?"
Watch how Welcoming something shifts your experience, then Welcome that shift as well. Notice thoughts about the future, memories from the past, judgments about whether you're "doing it right"—and Welcome all of these too.
Through consistent practice, you develop the capacity to immediately move to "Yes, I can Welcome this" because you begin to experience directly that Welcoming anything and everything makes life so much better. This isn't about becoming passive or losing discrimination—it's about becoming so spacious and free that you can engage with life fully without being diminished by any experience that arises.
Ready to Live This for Yourself?
What you have just read is only the beginning. In the self-paced online program Loving Bliss of Being: The Ladder of Divine Love Consciousness, Welcoming is not just explained—it is directly experienced through guided Transmissions and practical exercises that work at the energetic level, dissolving the very resistance that keeps you from feeling at Home.
Here is what students have shared after working with these teachings:
"I feel like I'm a better person... calmer, a more loving person." — Kimberly S.
"I've been using the method we learned in the course and it has been incredibly powerful. This has been helping me dissolve patterns that show up as physical symptoms, emotions, or even as the sudden recognition of a belief I didn't know was there. After each release I felt so much clarity." — Tatiana T.
"I feel like a completely different person... I didn't think it would be this good. It's so much more than I ever could have imagined. I've changed my life so much since we started." — Lesley W.
"I said, 'Okay. I welcome this. Let me truly see it.' When I allowed it, I felt heat in my head, tension, intensity, and then I cried. Underneath the anger, I saw how many times I hadn't listened to my body. How often I didn't set boundaries. How much I had suppressed. Then something beautiful happened." — Tatiana T.
The Transmissions in this program carry a Living Presence that goes far beyond reading about these practices. Each time you revisit them, you meet them from a deeper level of Consciousness—students regularly report wanting to do the course again and again (which you have the option to do—you gain lifetime access) because it truly is a new experience each time, from wherever you are now.
If something in this article stirred something in you—a recognition, a quiet longing to live with that kind of Freedom and spaciousness—that is your Inner Guidance speaking. That is the part of you that already knows it is ready to come Home.
